White Bathroom Vanity And Double Bathroom Vanities

By Darren Hartley

There are no hard rules for choosing a white bathroom vanity. The size of the vanity is often dictated by the size of the bathroom. Take the case of a powder room. Because it is generally the smallest room in the house, it can only accommodate a small vanity.

A white bathroom vanity that holds one sink, with a minimal countertop, is sufficient for a powder room, as long as there is enough room to access the toilet. The style of the powder room vanity can either approximate that of the other public rooms in the house or constitute a bold statement for the homeowner.

For a clean clean-lined Shaker styled, white bathroom vanity, a Craftsman-styled home would make a perfect match. A good spot for a pedestal sink with no counter space would be the powder room. However, this must be supplemented with storage space elsewhere in the bathroom since storage space has been lost in the installation of the pedestal sink.

Double bathroom vanities providing two sinks are the obvious upside to their use. Two sinks would mean less time in the fulfilment of daily bathroom rituals. This is especially true for couples who use the shared bathroom at the same time. However, two sinks would mean two counter space, and that is the main disadvantage of double bathroom vanities.

With the addition of vessel style sinks paired with double bathroom vanities, a double basin can prove to be extremely luxurious and spacious. Vessel sinks free up the counter for bathroom accessories like built-in soap dispensers and hands-free faucets. More importantly for some, they also add a touch of class to the bathroom.

There is one alternative to double bathroom vanities and that is the no-vanity wall-mounted sink. It is mounted directly to the wall, so the requirement for a vanity to support the sink is eliminated. An additional advantage to it is its provision of a more modern and sleek look to the shared bathroom space. Wall-mounted sinks are definitely the best way to go if freeing up space in cramped quarters is the problem. They are the perfect solution for small shared bathrooms requiring dual sinks.
