Bulls have a strong hunting instinct, thus if you have other small pets in the house the possibility of the puppy chasing them and even pouncing on them is high. It is, therefore, paramount that you ensure you have trained it in the way that it should behave, and that it understands the importance of living with other pets. Be careful with this type of dog leaving the house alone as it might pounce on the animals in the street.

If well socialized from a young age, Pit bulls are the type of dogs that are social, and they really enjoy the company of human beings. Getting a dog means that it is your responsibility to ensure that it has gotten enough exercise and mental stimulation. Bear in mind that pits are strong animals that need to have a regular exercise that enables them to be able to vent. If they do not get enough exercise as required, they will be rambunctious and bored which means that they will turn into destructive chewing.

Pitbulls are known for having a mind of their own and they normally want to be the boss. It is for this reason that you have to ensure that you are firm and strict towards the dog especially during training. Make sure that the dog has understood that you are the leader, and they have no choice than to do what you have said. However do not be aggressive, because this will make the dog feel intimidated and it might attack you, so as to protect itself.

The type of breeder that is selling the dog is another factor that one has to consider. Choose a breeder that is trustworthy and reliable. They should be well trained and more focused on producing high-quality breeds, rather than doing a mass production and filling the demand of Pitbulls.

Teach your children how to relate to the dogs and the games that they should play. If they are young children, leave them alone with the dog without any supervision.
