The Steps Swimming Pool Contractors Oklahoma City Follow In Construction

By Marci Glover

Swimming is an activity that people partake in for fun or sport. It has been enjoyed for many years. Long ago, people would swim in natural water sources such as rivers, lakes and oceans. With advances in construction knowledge and skill, swimming pools were made. Swimming pool contractors oklahoma city construct the ponds in different sizes and styles. The construction process is done in several steps.

The first step is planning the work to be done. This is done in a meeting involving the contractors and the client. The client expresses the desires he has while the contractors assist him to make a decision. They can show him pictures of pools made in different styles and he can choose the design he prefers. This team can visit the site where the pond is to be made and assess any challenges they might encounter. They also confirm whether the chosen design will blend well with the house.

A cost analysis is done for both the materials as well as labour to be used. The time needed to implement the project is also estimated. Duration needed is determined by the amount of work to be done. The work load is more if the design is complex and the size big. If there are structures that are on or near the construction site, the owner is advised to move them to a safe place. For those which can not be moved, the owner is informed that they may be destroyed during construction.

The construction begins with digging a hole in the ground to resemble the swimming pool. The depth and shape must be done right. The soil from the hole can be used in landscaping or taken to a dump site. Metallic bars are used to make a mesh that enhances the strength of the floor and walls. The mesh is placed on all the pond surfaces.

Water pipes are put in place through the mesh. They bring water into the pool and out of it to the purifying machines so as to keep it fresh. The open ends of these pipes must be covered to prevent blockage by concrete.

Concrete is used in construction of the walls and floor of the pond. It is poured into the mesh and allowed to settle into all the spaces in the mesh. Adequate time is then allowed for it to dry and bond well. When it dries, it is of high strength and does not crack easily.

Once the concrete is set, tiles are cemented to the walls and floor. They give the surfaces a smooth feel as well as better look. The decks are also worked on to blend with the ground around the pond. The water pumping systems are connected to the plumbing systems in the pond.

Modifications to these steps are made depending on the design of the pool. The size also determines the procedures done. The completed pool is handed to the owner with instructions on how to maintain it.
