Balancing The Home Using Unique Feng Shui Tips

By Marci Glover

Most people would agree that decorating a home is a personal task, and the outcome reflects the personalities of those who reside within the space. The important thing to remember is the ancient traditional way of balancing the home using unique Feng Shui tips that provide good flow. In doing so, people are feeling better within the space, so it dictates a lot about who they are and how they act.

Developed in China thousands of years ago, it shows how to balance the energy of the space. In doing so, it is meant to provide health and fortune for those who reside in the space. The direct translation means wind and water, and is based on the Taoist vision. It's about understanding the nature and that the land is filled with energy.

Certainly, people can use tools to analyze the energy that exists. Through the proper use of the tools, they can interpret various bits of information that can help them improve their lives. In this practice, everything is measured, from a color scheme to the placement of furniture, and the air quality as well.

Furniture placement plays a very big role in this concept, such as with the home office desk. Facing east, the individual will be more productive, and the opposite would be true if it was facing west. The placement of the bed in the bedroom will also have a huge impact on how the person feels and how they rest.

Many people believe that this concept is based on decorating with Oriental design, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Again, it's about balancing the Yin, which is feminine energy, and the Yang, which is masculine energy. More Yin comes with the addition of feminine colors and patterns.

One of the most important parts of this concept is to bring the best air quality into the space. Use modern technology with air purifiers, or the perfect plants that purify. Bring fresh and natural scents into the space with essential oil diffusers, and regularly open windows to let in fresh air.

Next, turn the front door into something capable of receiving positive energy by removing obstructions from the walkway. The address should be clear and visible from the street. Moving indoors, be sure to add color. Color is what provides good health, but it has to be the right color palette, with colors that are warm yet reflective. This is done through paint as well as accessories.

A happy home is a clutter free home, so remove all clutter. Donate anything that isn't user hasn't served a purpose in a year. Place the furniture in a way that provides comfort as well as safety. Be sure that the largest piece in any room his positions in such a way that can see the door. In doing so, it brings a sense of security as anyone can see who enters the room.
