By Saleem Rana

Independent Educational Consultant, Lon Woodbury has worked with families and teenagers since 1984. His latest book, entitled "Preteens and Young person," is the fourth publication in his Parent Empowerment Series. This book is now readily available on Kindle books.

This new book will assist parents and concerned child-care professionals who are dealing with at-risk children who fall between the two opposite sides of the teen spectrum-- namely, preteens and young adults. Preteens are children who are just emerging into their teen years while young adults are children who have come to the end of their teen years but who are not yet mature enough to be considered responsible adults.

The Quintessential Guide for "Preteens and Young Adults".

In the preteens section, "Preteens and Young Adults" describes in detail the changes, dilemmas, frustrations and challenges experienced by children on the cusp of their teenage years. It then provides a list of top schools and programs for struggling preteens. Each school or program is fully described so that parents can compare schools or programs to see which one offers the best fit for their preteen.

In the sections covering young adults, the author provides readers an understanding into the emotional and sociological concerns behind why many young adults fail to leave home. On one hand, mothers and fathers are wrestling with their children's failure to grow up, get an apartment, find meaningful work, and live independently; and on the other hand, young people are having problems with maturing and finding their way in a society that does not appear to care for any of their needs.

The young adults part of the book, leaves moms and mads and consultants with a much deeper understanding of the "epidemic" of immature young adults. Additionally, it dedicates ten whole chapters to each of the steps essential to empower young adults to feel part of society. Once again, as in the preteen portion of the book, leading schools and programs are described in complete detail. There is more than information here on therapeutic programs to aid young people find the solutions for success in life.

In essence, then, this is a guide that provides a psychological and sociological point of view on the struggles of preteens and young people. Besides that mission, it supplies a mini-directory of parent-choice programs and institutions throughout the United States for preteens and young people. This 143-page publication supplies invaluable info, support, and resources for mothers and fathers whose struggling youngsters fall under either the preteen or young parent category.
