By Ruthie Livingston

Tinting of windows is traditionally known to belong to vehicles. This is mainly because in most cars forty percent of their bodies are consisted of glass thus a very huge percentage of light is allowed into the car. To curb this menace the tint is used. On the same advent has the rising of window tint for homes Chicago. Tinting house windows is based on the argument that more than just light prevention. It has more advantages and disadvantages than the normal point of view.

Most if not all people want natural sunlight, the light in this case may also be in excess and as we all know an excess of anything is not good for one and it may even be poisonous, the same case applies in the housing sector, too much light is unwanted and to counter this challenge tinting of windows is advocated. The tint encourages light to pass through but upon a certain limit it is reflected away this ensures that there is a conducive environment for existence in the house.

Another great advantage that one has upon tinting their home windows is the privacy that comes with it. The restriction of some of light enables the eye not to see into the house directly as opposed to the normal untinted window during the day. Tinting of windows enables one to feel secure during the day that no one is watching them from afar and if someone decides to stalk them they may have to really come into close proximity of the windows to get a glimpse of what is happening.

UV rays have been known to make things age faster, it has been experimented and discovered that things exposed to direct sunlight tends to become old and wear out faster. On the other end tints can control the amount of UV rays entering a room because they have reflective and absorvative properties . These properties tend to reduce the amount of UV rays coming into the house thus protecting the furniture from wearing out faster due to UV rays.

It has been witnessed in most countries that experience summer that a tinted windowed house tends to have lower temperatures during the summer session. This usually is because the summer sun is blocked by the tinted windows thus blocking the heat from penetrating through as opposed to the normal panned glass house.

A huge number of households spend a fortune when it comes to regulation of temperature in their homes, this is because the temperatures become either too hot or too cold. Upon tinting their windows a huge difference is observed since the tints tend to control the temperatures thus reducing a significant amount of the monthly bills spent on electricity due to temperature controls.

One of the disadvantages of tinting the home windows is the fact that the process of tinting is expensive. The procedure requires a huge initial amount of capital that a majority of the households cannot afford or are not willing to invest in.

Another mishap of tinting is the fact that tints are not functional at night this is because in most cases there tends to be more light on the inside of the house than on the outside of the house thus making it not effective.
