By Lelia Hall

It would be unimaginable how you would cope with extreme temperatures at home or office were air conditioners not present. These appliances make these places bearable. Nevertheless, since they come in different models, and so many brands are in the market, many people find it hard to select one. If you are installing one in Edison NJ, you can make a choice from several options. This article gives the available options for your AC installation AC installation Edison NJ.

As said earlier, there are several types of ACs in the market. The cheapest kind is the standalone or monoblock air con system. This is best used when you are cooling specific areas of the house. For example, an AC to cool your bedroom in summer nights. This is a plug and play kind of AC and does not require any expertise to use. However, it may be noisy and breaks down easily.

You could also use a wall, window or ceiling mounted AC. One side of the air con is fixed on these surfaces while the other is put on the outside. They work best when used in single rooms but tend to be a little noisier. Their installation requires a certified installer and so is their maintenance.

To cool bigger rooms or two rooms at the same time, a split conditioner is better than a wall mount air con. It has a compressor on the outside with cables and piping leading to the system installed on the inside. This is a more reliable and efficient system and also quiet. However, it cannot be used in more than two rooms at a go.

For more than two rooms, a multi-split air system AC would be better. It works the same as the split air AC except that it comes with more units and a powerful compressor on the outside. It is more expensive and requires professional routine maintenance to work properly. Its cost depends on the number of units you choose to install.

For large buildings where one requires a single air con, it would be desirable to go for a centralized air con. It is housed in a strategic room and a duct system interconnects all the rooms that require conditioning. It is highly efficient and is easily operated remotely. You can set it to operate at different times in different rooms and at different temperatures as each room occupants may require. The cost varies with the size of building that installation is done.

Look at the warranty statement for different brands before purchase. There are different terms and lengths of a warranty depending on the product and the location of your building. There are those manufacturers only replace the broken parts but charge for the labor. Others may invalidate your warranty if you fail to maintain your appliance regularly. Understand these terms before settling on a particular brand.

Finally, carefully select the contractor to do your installation. Some manufacturers have trained a few dealers and authorized them to install their appliances; it would be nice to use them. However, you may use any other that belongs to Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) or any that is certified by North American Technician Excellence (NATE). Ask for a few quotes and compare their costs, guarantees, and clarity before settling on one. Sign a contract with the chosen contractor before letting him install your appliance.
